At the moment I am very pleased to let you know that my PhD-thesis has been approved by the reading committee!

That means, that I will defend my thesis “Rethinking Wildlife Management: Living With Wild Animals” on Friday 21 September, 11.00 AM at the Aula of Wageningen University!

Very excited!

You are cordially invited to attend my public defence.

To recap my thesis-topic:

My research seeks to advance insight into wildlife management practices that are confronted by human-wildlife conflicts. And it explores ways in which cohabitation might be achieved. In doing so, I specifically zoom in in the ‘co’ in cohabitation. And I use cases of black bear management on the Colorado Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, USA and wild boar management at the Veluwe, the Netherlands.

Ultimately my thesis intends to contribute to discussions how to rethink wildlife management practices including the used wildlife management strategies (I introduce several cohabitation strategies) to pursue cohabitation between humans and wild animals.
